API Terms

Last updated: May 13, 2026

These API Terms govern access to and use of the ToroTrace API, enterprise integrations, bulk analytics services, developer endpoints, exported analytics, and related infrastructure.

1. API Access

API access may require an active subscription, enterprise agreement, approval process, API key issuance, identity verification, or additional compliance review.

We reserve the right to approve, reject, suspend, restrict, or revoke API access at any time.

2. Permitted Use

You may use the API only for lawful internal business purposes, analytics, research, monitoring, compliance workflows, development, and approved commercial integrations.

3. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the API for unlawful activity or sanctions evasion.
  • Use analytics as definitive proof of criminal conduct.
  • Attempt to identify private individuals without lawful basis.
  • Resell, sublicense, mirror, or redistribute API access without permission.
  • Bypass rate limits, authentication, quotas, or security systems.
  • Reverse engineer or replicate proprietary analytics methods.
  • Use automated scraping against non-API platform endpoints.
  • Overload infrastructure through abusive or excessive requests.
  • Use the API to create competing analytics products using copied data.

4. Rate Limits and Usage Controls

API usage may be subject to:

  • Request-per-minute limits
  • Monthly quota restrictions
  • Concurrent connection limits
  • Payload size limits
  • Export limits
  • Endpoint restrictions
  • Monitoring and abuse detection systems

Exceeding limits may result in throttling, suspension, reduced access, temporary bans, or permanent termination.

5. API Keys and Security

You are responsible for protecting API keys, credentials, tokens, and integration secrets. API credentials must not be exposed publicly, embedded in public repositories, or shared with unauthorized parties.

You must immediately notify us if you believe credentials have been compromised.

6. Data and Analytics Limitations

Blockchain analytics involve uncertainty and heuristic interpretation. Wallet labels, cluster classifications, fingerprinting results, routing indicators, risk scores, and behavioral analytics may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or incorrect.

Public blockchain data may contain false positives, false negatives, indexing errors, missing information, duplicated records, or delayed updates.

7. No Ownership Verification

The API does not verify the real-world identity or ownership of wallet addresses, clusters, or blockchain entities unless explicitly stated through verified public sources.

8. Compliance Responsibility

You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, sanctions rules, privacy laws, financial regulations, export controls, and compliance obligations in your jurisdiction.

Use of the API does not transfer regulatory responsibility to ToroTrace.

9. Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted API availability, uptime, latency, compatibility, response speed, or continuous endpoint support.

Endpoints, schemas, fields, analytics methods, or response structures may change over time.

10. Enterprise Features

Enterprise customers may receive additional features such as:

  • Higher rate limits
  • Dedicated support
  • Bulk scanning
  • Custom analytics
  • Webhook integrations
  • Priority infrastructure
  • Advanced exports
  • Compliance tooling

Enterprise functionality may require separate written agreements.

11. Intellectual Property

API responses, analytics methods, scoring systems, behavioral models, interfaces, schemas, reports, branding, and proprietary logic remain the intellectual property of ToroTrace and its licensors.

12. Monitoring and Enforcement

We may monitor API usage for abuse prevention, fraud detection, security, performance optimization, billing verification, and compliance enforcement.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate API access at any time if we believe usage:

  • Violates these terms
  • Creates infrastructure risk
  • Threatens platform security
  • Involves abusive automation
  • Violates applicable laws
  • Creates reputational or legal risk

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The API and all analytics are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ToroTrace and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages arising from API usage, integrations, analytics interpretation, or reliance on API outputs.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these API Terms at any time. Continued API usage after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
